⦁ 500g Potatoes
⦁ 5 cloves Garlic
⦁ Plain flour
⦁ Marjoram
⦁ Salt (black)
⦁ Oil for frying
Preparation
Step 1
Wash, peel and grate potatoes on a coarse grater, add salt (black salt gives the egg flavour) and let the water drain for 20 minutes.
Step 2
Add pressed garlic, marjoram to the potatoes, and sprinkle plain flour until it absorbs the water from the potatoes and forms a thick mass
Step 3
Heat oil in a pan and use a ladle to create thin patties. If we have a pan with a lid, it is better to close the pan. After 1-2 minutes, turn and fry on the other side. After frying the potato pancakes, dry them with paper towels.
Step 4
If you prefer to oven roast them, turn oven to 250c, brush baking paper with oil and use ladle to create thin patties. Bake for 5-10mins till golden brown on each side.
